The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is excited to announce the establishment of a new Management Committee for the Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars.
The Committee, which will oversee the team’s administrative and logistical operations, will be led by Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the GFA Executive Council. In his role as Chair, Dr. Abbey will also spearhead interactions with the Government and other key stakeholders.
Stephen Appiah, former Captain of the Black Stars, will serve as Vice-Chairman, offering support to Dr. Abbey while focusing on Player Relations.
The Committee will also include Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and GFA Executive Council member, along with Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club. Aboabire and Armah will be responsible for overseeing operations and matchday activities, ensuring the interests of Sponsors, Partners, and Collaborators are well represented. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League champions, will take on the role of Member for Special Duties.
The Management Committee’s responsibilities will include overall team management, strategic planning, and coordination with the GFA and Technical Team. They will ensure proper camping arrangements, logistical support, and regular visits to the team in camp. In collaboration with the Head Coach and Technical team, the Committee will also ensure adherence to schedules for all matches and tournaments.
Moreover, the Committee will oversee the timely release of funds for team operations from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organize optimal travel arrangements, and ensure that team members represent Ghana with dignity and professionalism.
In addition, the Management Committee will implement appropriate policies and procedures to support the players, officials, and technical staff, while maintaining a strong, positive relationship between the Committee, the Technical team, and the players.
