Police Interrupt Metro TV Good Morning Ghana Live Show
Last Tuesday, the 27th of November 2024, Metro TV became the center of a dramatic incident during its live show Good Morning Ghana. Armed police officers, along with some auctioneers, tried to force their way into the studio, leading to a standoff with the host, Dr. Randy Abbey, and the station’s security team.
Dr. Randy Abbey stood up to the armed group as they attempted to enter the studio. He demanded to know their authority, asking, “Which court gave you that authority?”. This intense moment was captured live on air.

The station’s private security team tried to stop the group from entering. In the process, own security officer suffered a head injury during a physical struggle.
The Ghana Police Service later stated that their officers were acting on a court order. They said they were assisting a bailiff and a creditor to carry out the court’s decision.
