The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications welcomes President Mahama’s digital economy agenda, pledging collaboration to advance innovation, inclusion, and connectivity in Ghana.

The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications has expressed optimism that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration will drive the country’s digital economy forward.

The Chamber commended the emphasis placed in Mahama’s manifesto on promoting innovation, enhancing communication, and accelerating technological progress.

This anticipation follows the President’s election and his commitment to advancing socio-economic development through digital transformation initiatives. The Chamber looks forward to collaborating with the government to position Ghana as a leader in digital inclusion and connectivity in Africa.

The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and the EMIs Chamber of Ghana have also extended their congratulations to Mr. Mahama on his election as President of the Republic of Ghana.

The re-election of President Mahama marks a defining moment for Ghana, further solidifying its democratic legacy while advancing the nation’s socio-economic development. Representing key stakeholders in telecommunications and electronic payments, the Chambers praised his commitment to innovation and digital transformation.

President Mahama’s leadership is anticipated to propel Ghana’s digital economy initiatives outlined in his manifesto, which emphasize communication, innovation, and technological advancement.

The two Chambers, therefore, expressed their readiness to collaborate with the incoming administration to further Ghana’s leadership in digital inclusion, financial technology, and connectivity across Africa.

“We deeply value President Mahama’s engagement with our Chambers to discuss manifestos and shared goals for industry growth. This reflects his dedication to fostering a robust and inclusive digital ecosystem,” stated Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and EMIs Chamber of Ghana.

The Chambers commended the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his statesmanship in accepting the election results, reinforcing Ghana’s democratic values.

They also lauded the citizens for ensuring peaceful and orderly elections.

Looking ahead, the Chambers envision a strong partnership with the Mahama administration to drive economic growth, create job opportunities, and sustain a thriving digital ecosystem for future generations.
