The Black Princesses of Ghana suffered a 4-1 loss to Japan in the 2024 FIFA U 20 Women’s World Cup at the El Techo Stadium in Bogotá.
Ghana already lost their first game narrowly to debutants Austria in the opening game few days ago and could still qualify should they clinch a win in their final group game.
The Japanese started on a blistering note and opened the scoring account in the early stages but was subsequently disallowed.
After thirty-two minutes in the game, there was a huge appeal for a penalty after Fuka Tsunoda appeared to have fouled Stella in the box but the referee after consulting VAR changed his decision.
The deadlock was broken at long last on the 44th minute after Chinari Sasai pounced on a huge clanger to score and give Japan the lead.
