Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has expressed optimism regarding Thomas Partey’s fitness as the Black Stars gear up for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Partey, who missed the 2023 AFCON due to injury, is expected to play a pivotal role in the upcoming matches. Addo, while unveiling the squad for the match against Angola on September 5, emphasized the importance of Partey’s fitness but also assured that players like Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Kudus, and others are ready to step up if needed.
Ghana will commence their training camp on September 2 in preparation for their opening clash against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium. Following this, the team will travel to Morocco to face Niger on September 9.
Grouped with Angola, Sudan, and Niger in Group F, Ghana aims to build on their recent strong performance in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and secure top spot in their group. The return of Partey to full fitness is anticipated to be a key factor in the team’s pursuit of success.
