Ghana's Midfield-Dynamo Majeed Ashimeru to Play For The First Time Under Otto Addo as Black Stars Coach

Belgium Jupiler Pro League side RSC Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is set to play under Black Stars head coach Otto Addo for the first time during the upcoming international break.

The former West African Football Academy midfielder had missed out on earlier squad selections this year due to an injury when Ghana played friendly games in January and the World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June.

The now fully recovered Ashimeru is back in action for RSC Anderlecht in the 2024-25 Belgium Jupiler Pro League where he’s been dazzling for the Mauve and White outfit.

He is expected to play a crucial role for Ghana as they face Angola and Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.

These matches are scheduled to take place in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 5 and in Niamey on September 9.
