Ghana Striker Ransford Yeboah-Konigsdorffer Thrilled After Scoring Match-Winner Against Koln

Black Stars forward Ransford Yeboah-Konigsdorffer has expressed excitement after netting the match-winner in the top of the Bundesliga 2 table clash against FC Koln.

The 23-year-old climbed off the bench to score with 12 minutes remaining as Hamburger move to top of the table in their first game of 2025.

The Ghana international needed only six minutes to make the difference after replacing Davie Selke in the second half.

Yeboah-Konigsdorffer scored from a rebound after his penalty was initially saved by the Koln shot-stopper.

“It was a tough game but in the end a deserved victory for us. We had more drive towards the goal and were more assertive. The luck was on our side. We are going into the next tasks with a positive feeling,” he said after the match.

Despite losing his starting place to Selke this season, the German-born Ghanaian has netted eight goals in the league in 17 appearances for Hamburger, leading their promotion ambition.

The victory sends Hamburger top of the table ahead of Madgeburg and Koln, who have the same points as the leaders.

He has been a key figure at the club since joining them from Dynamo Dresden in 2022.

Yeboah-Konigsdorffer represented Germany at the youth levels but decided to play for Ghana in 2022, going on to play at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast last year
