Sarkodie delivers a bold and unapologetic rap performance among other fiery scenes.
After releasing his mixtape “The Championship” in May 2024, Sarkodie, one of Ghana’s most prolific rappers, has dropped a music video for one of the tracks on the mixtape.
To celebrate his birthday on July 10, 2024, Sarkodie gifted his fans with the release of the music video for his rap song “X”, featuring Joey B. The video was directed and shot by Awudu Musa (Babs Direction).
Known for his choice of high-quality visuals to accentuate his rap songs, the video for Sarkodie’s “X” opens up with a dramatic high angle shot of Sarkodie, clad in black, walking through a volcanic landscape, of melting lava and flames. The scene references the mixtape’s cover art which also features flames, setting the tone for an intense and fiery rap song.
The scene quickly transitions to the next, which sees Sarkodie sitting side by side with Joey B, contemplating on the controversies surrounding Sarkodie’s presumed arrogant personality and his inability to respond to calls from his colleague artistes as some of the lyrics In the song suggest.
Sarkodie delivers a bold and unapologetic rap performance among other fiery scenes, touting his legacy in the music industry and subtly addressing controversies surrounding him.
The dark, edgy visuals perfectly complement his boastful lyrics, as he seamlessly navigates the beat with his signature catchy Twi flow, exuding confidence and swagger.
