Black Princesses has won the maiden edition of the U20 WAFU B Tournament held at Kumasi Baba Yara Sports on 3rd June,2023 and gain the championship title as a host and win face.
With a 1-1 draw at full time, Ghana won 3-1 on penalties to clinch the giant’s trophy.With just five minutes to end game, Nigeria gave Ghana a shocker of an equalizer to stretch game to penalties.
Ghana eventually won 3-1 on penalties with Stella Nyamekye and Comfort Yeboah giving the Black Princesses the edge with first two kicks. Mary Amponsah converted to win the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B U-20 Girls Cup of Nations for Ghana.
The final debue saw the Nigeria U20 fighting with much pressure to conquer the Princesses but this victory could not be that of a champion since the Black Princesses eagerness to make Coach Yussif Basigi proud was possible.
17 year old Stella Nyamekye named the best player in the WAFU B U20 Girl’s Cup. She scored In every game Ghana played in the tournament. She is Ghana’s top scorer in the tournament with 4goals She holds a CAF license D certificate in coaching.
