The 2024 Ballon d’Or award ceremony is just around the corner. There is just over a month to go to find out who has been voted the best player of last season, with Manchester City’s Rodri Hernandez and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr among the favourites.

The Ballon d’Or is the highest individual trophy a player can win, with Lionel Messi being the highest winner of the award with eight Ballon d’Or trophies. The Argentinean star won the last one at last year’s gala after winning the World Cup title with Argentina.

The next Ballon d’Or gala—the 68th individual award ceremony—will take place on 28 October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
