Adele Reveals Plans to Take a Break from Music

Speaking in an interview with German broadcaster and sighted by SKB Journal, ZDF, the “Rolling Deep” singer asked fans not to expect new music from her, citing the need for a big break from music-related activities.

Award-winning English singer and songwriter, Adele, has announced that she will be taking an extensive break from music and performing, after her current run of concerts, which will end in November.

“My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?” She said.

In addition, she also revealed her struggle with fame from her music career as another reason for wanting a break.

“I miss everything about me before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most. I like that I get to make music all the time, whenever I want to, and people are receptive to it and like it. That’s pretty unimaginable. But the fame side of it, I absolutely hate,” she added.

With her next shows scheduled for August 2024 in Munich, Adele, who has been headlining “Weekends With Adele” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since November 2022, will wrap up her concerts in November 2024. She mentioned the toll the numerous performances were taking on her, saying, “Even though it’s a very manageable size of crowd, it’s really been an emotional exchange.”

Adele shot to fame with her debut album “19” in 2008, followed by the hugely successful “21” in 2011, which became the UK’s fourth best-selling album. The singer later released “25” in 2015 and “30” in 2021, after a five-year hiatus. The singer who has won a total of 16 Grammy awards, has surprised many fans with her decision to retire from music.
